The FHS Poly electrofusion welding, butt welding & extrusion welding training courses cover the following topics through practical and theoretical training both online and in-person:

- Introduction to polyethylene piping systems
- Overview of electrofusion welding, butt welding, and/or extrusion welding techniques
- Safety measures and precautions
- Equipment and tool selection and maintenance
- Preparation of pipes and fittings for welding
- Welding process and control parameters
- Quality control and testing of welds
- Troubleshooting common welding problems
- Relevant industry standards and regulations

Upon completion of the course/s, participants will have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform electrofusion welding, butt welding and/or extrusion welding on polyethylene pipes, sheet and fittings in a safe and effective manner.

Training Course prerequisites

There are no entry requirements for this training course. Open to all ages and abilities.

Training Course Duration

Online portion will take approx. 1 hour per course, prior to in person class.
In person class for Butt Welding is 1 day
In person class for Electrofusion Welding is 1 day
In person class for Butt Welding & Electrofusion Welding is 2 days
In person class for Extrusion Welding is 1 day
We also supply ongoing support, so if you have problems out in the field we are here to help.

Assessment

To gain a Competency Certificate you will need to complete the online training prior to the start of your in person training and demonstrate to the trainer that you are competent and confident in welding during the in person component of training.

Competency Certificate

We would like to clarify that our certificate of completion is a certificate of competency, which acknowledges your participation in and completion of our training program. Please note that it is not an RTO accredited certificate. However, our training is designed to meet industry standards and provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform poly welding work competently.
