Our Story: Established Experience. Built to Back the Industry Long Term 1994 Founding and Early Success Fusion Hire Services – or FHS – was established in Melbourne by Darren Poynton. FHS’ initial operations were solely based on the provision of quality plastic welding equipment for hire. 2005 Growth and Reputation FHS’ growth led to the addition of a range of complimentary services including equipment sales, and extensive onsite and in-house fabrication services. Quickly building the reputation as the specialist in polyethylene piping and plastic welding equipment. 2010 Expansion of Services Expansion of the onsite fleet and moving to a factory in Martha Street Seaford, to open the largest PE fabrication workshop in South East Australia, solidifying them as the industry’s “One Stop Shop” for all plastic welding needs. 2021 Change of ownership and Showroom Launch When Ross Bennett took the helm, he rebranded the business as FHS Poly with a clear focus: creating a better experience for every customer. To bring this vision to life, he opened a Product Showroom at the Martha Street Factory, giving tradies and project teams a hands-on look at the latest poly welding equipment. At the same time, FHS Poly began expanding its network of suppliers, ensuring Australian customers had access to a wider selection of high-quality, innovative, tried-and-true products. With a larger showroom and an extensive range of equipment, FHS Poly continues to be the trusted choice for quality products, expert advice, and dependable project support across the Australian poly welding industry. 2026 Celebrating over 30 Years of Innovation Marking over 30 years in the industry, FHS Poly has been at the heart of the Australian poly welding industry.
